Fees
Whitsunday Skin Cancer Clinic aims to provide affordable and accessible skin cancer care to the Whitsundays. In order to provide high quality services a mixed billing model has been adopted. A service fee will be charged in full and a medicare rebate provided to patient, the difference between the payment and the rebate is the out of pocket cost to patients. We are unable to universally bulk bill all patient as clinic running cost exceed current medicare rebates.

Our fees for our most common services are listed below as well as our approach to DVA/Healthcare card holders.

Full Body Skin Check basic (<40 spots on body, less than 20min) - $135 (rebate $43.90)
Full Body Skin Check complex (>40 spots on body, 20-40min) - $170 (rebate $84.90)
Single lesion check and management advice - $85 (Rebate $43.90)
Biopsy (punch/shave) if separate to consultation - $90 (Rebate $60.90) - quote from doctor if multiple required
Simple Excision - Gap fee depends on the lesion subtype, size and body position - discuss with doctor
Flap/Graft - to be discussed with doctor at time of lesion consultation
Other procedures - to be discussed with doctor at time of consultation
Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA)
Whitsunday Skin Cancer Clinic treats veterans with DVA cards. Gold card and white card (if skin cancer an accepted condition) will allow a no gap service for skin checks and excisions. Some services may require us to seek approval from DVA prior to a treatment being given.
Healthcare Card Holders
Whitsunday Skin Cancer Clinic may provide a reduced gap service to healthcare card holders depending on the required treatment and the costs to deliver this.
Private Health Insurance
Private Health Insurance is only accepted for admissions to Private Hospitals. As Whitsunday Skin Cancer Clinic is not a private hospital and services are an outpatient service Private Health does not provide a rebate or cover costs.
